Abstract: Charlie Babbitt(Tom Cruise), lives a life of luxury in Los Angeles, but when he finds out he has a autistic brother(Dustin Hoffman) he has not heard about, he wants to know him more. And in a way, they teach each other lessons and develop a strong brotherhood.
Critique: Rain Man is a very strong and inspirational movie about a brotherhood and how strong it can be if it is kept alive. One of the best movies I have seen of the 80's. It is ranked 14th on my own personal favorites of all time, and it is on my top 2 films of the 80's as well.
Recognitions: Rain Man was nominated for 11 academy awards. It won the award for Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Director, and Best Original Screenplay.
