Abstract: Dr. Malcolm Sayer(Robert De Niro), is a quiet, but smart Doctor who stumbles across a remedy that could awaken hundreds of people who have been away, that fell to a strong disease that occured during the 1920's. What he doesn't know is that one of those people is Leonard Lowe(Robert De Niro) will change his life forever.

Critique: This movie could have been much better than it really was. The only reason I gave it a 4.6 is because the film itself drags on and doesn't get to the point quickly. The directing to me was very poor, but the acting and script were marvelous without reach. I could only imagine how great this film could have been if it had not dragged on.

Recognitions: Awakenings was nominated for three academy awards including, Best Picture, Best Actor, and Best Adapted Screenplay, unfortunately it could not receive the award however for any of them.
